ELEKTRA KURTIS AND ENSEMBLE ELEKTRA“CUTTING THROUGH” featuring BOB STEWART at JOE’S PUB 425 Lafayette Street. NY, NY 10003 Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 7- 8:30 pm

Milo Records is proud to present internationally known violinist, Elektra Kurtis and Ensemble Elektra, in concert on May 29, 2010 at 7: 00 to 8:30pm.  The concert will be held at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater 425 Lafayette Street, NY, NY 10003.

Elektra Kurtis and Ensemble Elektra have a new and exciting cd “Cutting Through” released on Milo Records, featuring a world renowned jazz tuba player Bob Stewart. They are "cutting through" cultural borders and genres of music, bridging American music: Jazz and Rock with Mediterranean, Arabic, Latin and Western Classical.

Ensemble Elektra brings a fresh perspective to American creative music, fusing the modern beat of New York’s life with its members’ multi-ethnic musical roots.  The sextet lead by Elektra Kurtis on violin, features the most unique musicians of New York's music scene: Curtis Stewart on violin, Lefteris Bournias on clarinet, Panayotis Andreou on electric bass, Babatunde Don Eaton on percussion and Kahlil Kwame Bell on drums.

"Profound yearning, ecstatic wailing and an aching beauty – in a rather original context.”         E.J. Janelli ~ music reporter for All About Jazz

One fan said “It’s music from the heart that sounds like Mediterranean Dixiland.”
