This is a world jazz fusion group lead by the lovely Elektra Kurtis (violin) & I assume the music on this recording is based on her vision since everything was written by her. Anyway, there's a wealth of talented musicians on this recording, all from various cultural backrounds & I believe that diversity helps to give the music a great deal of flavor. This mostly instrumental album has a lot of uptempo beats and there's some groove to it as well. I'm not quite sure if I understand what this band is all about. But, I do enjoy this release, which clocks in at almost an hour. The players are all well versed in their instruments and I feel that you can sense that by listening to this release. For something different and highly enjoyable, Ensemble Elektra has your ticket to ride!
